As part of his plans to make Delta State University, Abraka an academic centre of excellence, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Victor Peretomodo has said, certificates will henceforth be given to students on convocation day.
Prof. Peretomode, who disclosed this to newsmen, said, in addition, the institution was more than ever before prepared to ensure that discipline and high standard of morals was ensured in the university.
He said, already the university authorities have set up two committees on cultism and examination malpractices; adding that it was a deliberate plan by the authorities to rid the institution of any form of examination malpractice and end cult activities.
The Vice Chancellor said, already, the university was enjoying a peaceful and conducive learning environment and efforts are being made to ensure that it is sustained.
He commended the State Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan for his immense contributions towards the growth of the university and his giant strides in the education sector in the state. It will be recalled that the university recently held its convocation ceremony while a new chancellor was appointed for it by the State Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan.
