Continuous unauthorised logging and exploitation of forest resources in most parts of the country, especially in areas with huge biodiversity reserve, is raising fresh concerns among conservationists.
Citing the ongoing illegal logging in Taraba State as an example, Ibrahim Inahoro, Technical Adviser, Nigerian Conservation Foundation (NCF) in a statement obtained by BusinessDay, observes that the continuous exploitation of forest resources in the state will certainly impact on the state’s environment and, if unchecked, could lead to loss of revenue to government and
the people of the state in general.
