The Nigerian music industry has witnessed different beefs in the past and most
popular was the 2face Vs Face beef
that lasted for years after the breaking up of the Plantashun Boiz group. Like some will say, “the music industry can not be interesting without beef among artistes”.
Here are five recent beefs in the Nigerian music industry that were resolved before they took a messy turn.
Davido Vs Wizkid
Davido and Wizkid started out as friends but fell apart and became rivals mainly due to the regular comparisms they get from the media. After a while, the beef degenerated into physical attacks as the young men were involved in a physical encounter in a flight to the U.S which led to a heavy shot from Wizkid to Davido,
telling him he does proper shows in proper venues.
The two have since resolved their problems with Wizkid saying he had no beef with Davido.
Terry G Vs Ay.Com
Terry G fell out with AY.Com after he started performing the hit song “Pass Me Your Love” he produced for AY.com. Pass Me Your Love was owned by Ay.com but Terry G felt he could perform the song since he was featured in it and also produced it. AY.com who recently returned from his musical exile has resolved his beef with Terry G after he released a new single titled “No Mind Them” featuring Terry G.
Davido Vs Saucekid
The beef between Davido and US based Nigerian rapper Saucekid a.k.a Sinzu started when Davido started to perform the latter’s song at his own concerts alone. The two collaborated on Sinzu’s last hit song, Carolina.
Sinzu was totally not cool with the pop star making money off his song without paying him a dime as royalty. The last time Davido performed the song was about 3 years back after accepting the song doesn’t belong to him.
The two performed the song together for the first time in years at the just concluded SWSX. They also hung out after the gig in Austin, Texas which signaled the end of their rift.
Don Jazzy Vs D’banj
Following the breakup of music group Mo’Hits, the frontmen of the team Don Jazzy, D’Banj and Wande Coal were at loggerheads for many years. While D’Banj and Don Jazzy regularly maintained that they were at peace, industry insiders believed that there was a cold war between.
In recent times, they have been spotted on stage performing together signaling an end to their beef.
2Face vs faze vs black
face (plantashun boiz) There has been a cold war between 2face Idibia and fellow members of the defunct boy band Plantashun Boiz, Faze and Blackface. Although no one can tell what truly led to the breakup of the group, there were series of attack on different occasions from the aggrieved former band mates.
Blackface seems to be the most unsuccessful among the three while Face has struggled to make a comeback after two successful albums. 2face on the other hand continues to achieve mainstream success. The beef was settled after 2face threw a birthday party for Faze at his Festac night club, Rumors.
